![]() ![]() I borrowed a copy of this book from my local public library andI was not required to write a positive review. I found that I enjoyed the journey through the very early days of colonial America. The author is definitely keen on historical detail and that is always a plus. The tale starts out a little slow but this allows you to truly get to know the characters and not miss any important details. I had more reservations about Xander a large landowner who was widowed after marrying a native American woman. Selah was definitely my favorite character as she is kind and thoughtful. Alexander Xander Renick is the owner and tobacco lord over his indentured servant run plantation. Selah Hopewell and her family dwell in Virginia Colony and Selah is starting to be labeled as a spinster in an area sorely lacking in women. Tidewater Bride is exceptional and I thoroughly enjoyed the slower pace of the novel because it is a bit lengthy. Author Laura Frantz is well know for her epic well researched historical novels this one in particular for the 1634 era. ![]()
